Laurell Reynolds
Folk Show HostLaurell Reynolds was born and raised in Kansas and has lived in Kauai, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Cottage Grove before resettling in Ashland in 2016. Laurell was a staff member and operations engineer at Santa Fe’s public radio station KSFR, host and producer of the popular Sunday morning music show ‘Folk Remedy” from 2008 to 2011, as well as co-host of the political talk show ‘Living On the Edge’ and Saturday morning cooking show ‘Mouth Of Wonder’. In recent years she’s DJ’d at Oregon stations KLCC and KSOW in the Eugene area.
Laurell has an in depth background in visual arts from studies at Southern Oregon University and Washburn University, and graduated with a self designed BA in Fiber Arts from the College of Santa Fe, now the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, in 2003, where she specialized in book arts, garment construction and design, and costume history.
Her interests include gardening, nutrition, cooking, the great outdoors, art making, music philosophy, sharing old records and the revival of traditional wisdom. She is passionately devoted to the cultural literacy and preservation of our gradually vanishing musical heritage, with a knack for building bridges of understanding between folk enthusiasts and revivalists of all generations.
