Programming Volunteers Wanted!
Jefferson Public Radio currently has multiple opportunities for talented community members to join the volunteer programming staff. We’re interested in people dedicated to helping JPR maintain its long-standing programming excellence. If you have extensive knowledge and love for one or more of the many types of music JPR broadcasts, or you have past experience in radio and would like to be considered as a substitute host for any of JPR's programs, we'd love to start that conversation.
Our current opportunities include:
Open Air Host (Weekdays)
JPR's signature music show is in need of substitute hosts! We're looking for people with solid music chops, endless curiosity about artists and musical styles, an artistic sensibility, and the energy to share music with others. Shifts are from 8:30am to Noon, or from 11:30am to 3pm. If you are interested, please send an introductory email to JPRinfo@sou.edu stating why you are interested, and why you think you'd be a great fit.
Classical Music Host (Weekdays)
We're currently on the lookout for people interested and able to share their passion for classical music with the JPR audience on an occasional substitute basis. You must have a deep knowledge of classical music, an engaging persona, solid pronunciation skills and a fair bit of computer proficiency to be successful, plus time in your schedule to be available weekdays between 7am and 4pm. We'll provide all of the training to have you sounding like a pro in no time.
If you are interested, please send an introductory email to JPRinfo@sou.edu stating why you are interested, and why you think you'd be a great fit with the other excellent community volunteers who keep JPR running smoothly.
