IRA Qualified Contributions
If you're over age 70½, you can make a gift from your IRA as a tax-free distribution to benefit JPR. This means an amount (up to $100,000 annually) transferred from your IRA directly to the JPR Foundation can count toward your required minimum distribution without being considered taxable income for you. To count as a QCD, your IRA administrator must make the distribution directly to the JPR Foundation — funds that are withdrawn by you and then contributed do not qualify.
How to make an IRA qualified charitable distribution:
Contact your IRA administrator and instruct them to transfer funds to the JPR Foundation, Inc. Mail check(s) to:
JPR Foundation Inc. | 1250 Siskiyou Blvd. | Ashland, OR 97520
- Help us credit your gift and thank you by having your IRA administrator include your full name and mailing address on the gift. Also, have your administrator note that the transfer is an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution. If your financial institution cannot include your full name and address with the check, please send an email with your QCD gift details to: jpr-membership@sou.edu.
You can also use our online QCD tool to start the process. Click here to get started.
