Recap of the JCGS Meeting for June 10th, 2021

Greetings, guitar fans –
Our reunion at Paschal was a success! We had over 50 people in attendance in the back lawn/patio area, and the weather cooperated. The evening was delightful, and we’re grateful to our hosts at Paschal for helping to make this happen.
There was a very positive response to being outdoors and using light amplification for the performances. We are arranging the next meeting at Paschal, so stay tuned for that.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our treasurer Jennifer Babineaux started collecting dues for 2021. We know the year is already halfway over, but we already have plans for this year, including our 20th anniversary celebration in October and a November concert by guitarist Jiyeon “Jiji” Kim. To pay your annual dues, which are $20, please go to PayPal.me/jeffersoncgs and select the “Send” option, or contact Jennifer at jlbabineaux@comcast.net. As a registered 501(c)3, non-profit organization, we are also always open to additional, tax-deductible donations!
Grant Ruiz will perform in an online concert with LA-based guitarist Goh Kurosawa on Saturday, June 12 at 8pm. Please contact Goh at yohgoh@gmail.com for the Zoom link. Goh does suggest a minimum contribution of $5.55, which is pronounced “Goh Goh Goh” in Japanese. You can use venmo.com/supportgoh or select the “Pay friends & family” option for PayPal.me/supportgoh. There will be a separate, casual Zoom-based conversation at 7pm for anybody interested in joining. This is part of Goh’s remarkable program called Across Waters, which includes Japanese participants. You can get more information at composelife.com/brokentour.
Grant will also play guitar duets with Dan Fellman at Belle Fiore Winery in Ashland on Sunday, June 27 from 5-7pm, as well as solo guitar at Trium Wines in Talent on Friday, July 2 from 5-7pm.
Remember to contact JCGS member Bob Bath at bbath@budget.net if you would like to perform with the JCGS group as part of Porchfest 2021 on October 16 in Grants Pass (see porchfestgrantspass.org), benefiting a number of children’s programs.
